Few questions matter more than this one: how can I be saved? The Bible gives a clear and hopeful answer. Salvation is not about being good enough, religious enough, or trying harder. It is God’s free gift, offered to everyone through Jesus Christ. This page explains the gospel simply, shares the key Bible verses, and points you to free teaching to help you take the next step.

To be “saved” is to be rescued — from the guilt and penalty of sin, and from separation from God — and brought into a restored relationship with Him now and forever. Salvation is God’s work on our behalf, received by faith. It is the difference the whole Bible builds toward: a holy God making a way for sinful people to come home. For a deeper study, see the doctrine of salvation.
The Bible is honest about our condition. Romans 3:23 says, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” and Romans 6:23 adds that “the wages of sin is death.” Sin separates us from a holy God, and no amount of good works can bridge that gap. We need rescue from outside ourselves — and that is exactly what God provides.
God’s love is shown at the cross. “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Jesus took the penalty we deserved, died in our place, and rose again, defeating death. Because of Him, forgiveness and eternal life are freely offered: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). The response is simple and sincere. Romans 10:9 says, “If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” This involves believing the good news, repenting (turning from sin to God), and confessing Jesus as Lord. Salvation is by grace through faith, not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9). Explore Bible verses about salvation and free videos about salvation to go deeper.
If you are ready to trust Jesus, you can pray something like this from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and need You. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and ask You to save me. I confess You as my Lord. Thank You for forgiving me and giving me eternal life. Amen.” The words are not magic — sincere faith in Jesus is what saves.
You become a child of God, receive the Holy Spirit, and begin a new life following Jesus. Growth comes through reading God’s Word — a great place to start is the Gospel of John — through prayer, and by joining a local, Bible-teaching church. You are not meant to walk this road alone.
