The host shares his experience of finding great deals at Goodwill, including DVDs and Blu-rays for $2.
He shows off his finds, including Herbie the Love Bug, Ali, Rocky, and more.
The host also talks about finding a complete TV series of Man from Atlantis for $2, which is normally $33 on Amazon.
He highlights the thrill of finding hidden gems at thrift stores and encourages viewers to go out and search for deals.
Hey everybody, welcome to Classic Cinema Magazine. This is the Treasure Hunters Report. Alright, here recently at the Goodwill, I've been picking up a lot of stuff at Goodwill. At our Goodwill, we get a really good deal at our Goodwills. We get $2 for DVDs, Blu-rays, or season formats of TV shows. So that's pretty cool, only $2. So I got some really cool ones, and I'm going to show them to you right now really quick. First off, we got Herbie the Love Bug. I love this. The original The Love Bug. Not the one with Lindsay Lohan, no. This is the original Love Bug. I love this. This is the original one. two-disc special edition set, two bucks. Not bad. The same day that I picked up that, I also found Herbie Rides Again, $2. Not bad at all. Then beyond that, I got Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo. Awesome, awesome, awesome. So all three of those, only $2 a piece. Not bad at all. I love sports movies so these are pretty cool first off I love I love boxing films so I was able to pick up Ali this is of course Will Smith as Muhammad Ali this was only two dollars not bad at all also for my sports collection I got the first four films we're gonna get more of them but anyway I got the first four films of Rocky and in a big box set this is where Rocky Balboa returns this is Rocky Balboa. This was only $2 on DVD, so I had to pull the trigger on that one. All right. Also, love me some football stuff, right? So I had to go with one here, Cuba Gunning Jr., Ed Harris, Radio. Really good drama. I like that a lot. This was only $2. Not bad. Who doesn't love a little George Clooney, right? And Renee Zellweger, yeah, I like this one. This is Leatherheads This is actually a fun little film and pretty cute Only Not bad Love baseball films as well So actually got this one actually a really good deal This was only And this is the Billy Crystal film, 61. This of course deals with the Yankees, two great baseball players, Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris, as they were chasing the home run record. So really kind of cool. 61. Awesome. And that was only two bucks. Another baseball film. And we just recently lost Burt Reynolds. And what a shame it was. Well, I actually found this, and this was really cool, quite a little bit ago. and glad I actually pulled the trigger and got this because now that Burt Reynolds is gone. This is Burt Reynolds and Reba McIntyre in a baseball film called The Man from Left Field. I actually watched this and this is not actually as bad. I wasn't sure about this. I've never seen this. But I thought, well, it's Burt Reynolds. It's Reba McIntyre. I'll take a chance. And I'm actually glad I did because it's not that bad. It's a pretty, pretty cute little film, pretty nice little film. And so now it's in the collection as well. that's pretty cool. I've always wanted to get the film Robin Hood starring Russell Crowe, but I was going to pull the trigger. Thankfully, I didn't. It was at Walmart on a special set where it had a special cover. It looked like a drawn comic book-like cover, and it looked pretty cool, but it was five bucks on DVD, and I was like, I don't want to pay five bucks because I'd never seen it and I'm not sure how good it is. And I was like, I don't want to do that. So I just kept holding off, holding off, holding off. Glad I did because two bucks. This is the exact DVD that's at Walmart. The only difference is it doesn't have the slip cover. It has a slip cover, as you can see, but it's not the slip cover. I ain't worrying about that. I saved three bucks. I got the film. It's the exact thing. two versions of the film, yeah, I got it for $2. The only thing that was different that it had a different slipcover, I'm not going to make a deal about that. I'm a big fan of the 70s films the 70s TV shows I love Six Million Dollar Man The Incredible Hulk I love the old 70s shows there just something about them And I always wanted to see this series I know there are television movies someday we'll get them. But at our good will, this is unbelievable. $2, the complete TV series of Man from Atlantis. Unbelievable. I'm still shocked that I got this. Because this right here, I've checked it on Amazon, $33 new. $33 new, $2. $2? And I'm going to tell you, I checked every single one of these discs. Every single one of these discs look like they've never been even touched at all. So I'm taking this as almost brand new, if not brand new. And yeah, $2 and it's $33 on Amazon. Yeah, I did great on this. I'm not complaining. At our Goodwills, every so often, every month or so, they do a half price on everything sale. And so I was able to pick up two on that day that I'm pretty proud of. So I'm going to show them to you right now. Normally $2, only $1. Had to pick up this, Alien vs. Predator. I haven't actually seen this. I haven't seen it because I'm waiting for Halloween time. So I'm going to watch it at Halloween time. Hopefully this is a pretty decent film. I don't know. I haven't seen it. So we'll see if it's any good. Hopefully it is. If not, it was only a buck. Not a major deal. But anyway, only a dollar. Alien vs. Predator. Unbelievable. A buck. Yeah, not bad. All right, now our final thing. This is something I was really excited about. First off, let me show you something. Then we'll jump into this. Many people may not know this exists, but this is really cool. This is a classic film, actually on Blu-ray. This is 300 Spartans. This is a really good film. This is the film that inspired this, Frank Miller's 300 graphic novel. From that graphic novel came this, the movie 300. Well, I've been waiting because I actually saw the film 300 Rise of the Empire, and it was okay. It wasn as good as the original 300 but I was like eh it okay But I wasn going to spend big amounts of money for it It was actually at my big lots and it was like I think it was And I just said you know what $3 isn't bad, but I just don't, I don't know that I want to pull the trigger on $3 for Rise of an Empire. I just don't want to do it. And then, lo and behold, at the Goodwill for a buck comes Rise of the Empire, 300 Rise of the Empire on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital copy. Yes, the digital copy is there and it is available. That is unbelievable. All of this right here It looks absolutely brand new. It looks like somebody just opened up the package and never did anything with it because the discs are completely crystal clear. Not a scratch, not a piece of dust, nothing. I mean, this had a sticker on it from Best Buy of $38 on it. This was $1. Unbelievable. For the Blu-ray, DVD, and digital copy. Yeah, that's why I pulled the trigger on that one. So this is what I'm trying to say. It's so exhilarating when you can find stuff like Man from Atlantis that's a $33 TV series and you only pay $2. When you find Rise of an Empire with a sticker on it of $38 and you're paying only $1, that's what makes searching out and being like Indiana Jones searching for those deals, that's what makes it so worthwhile.
