Welcome once again to the Treasure Hunters Report. This is Pastor Jay with you once again. And this week we're talking a little good will thrifting. This week was the 50% off sale of all DVDs and movies for a dollar. How can you go wrong? So yeah, we got a pretty good little haul here. Not overly big, but you know, pretty good. Not complaining. So we're going to jump right into this and we're going to take a look at what we got. Something that was really, really cool that we picked up here. First off is a little 70s stuff. I like it. I like the 70s. 70s was hip. And, you know, even though I wasn't, you know, a kid of the 70s or anything, but, you know, I still like it. It still seems like a cool era. And so I like the 70s films. And check this one out. That's a collage. This is a pretty interesting little film. It's got Richard Pryor not in it completely, and it's got George Carlin in it as well. George Carlin is there on the back, like George Carlin. But yeah, this film, they're not the main characters in this, but it is kind of a unique little film. Not their greatest films, of course. Of course, I love George Carlin in Bill and Ted movies. Richard Pryor, I love Richard Pryor in Brewster's Millions. I think Brewster's Millions is one of his best. But that's me. Some people would say other things, but that's fine. But that's my favorite, Richard Pryor. But anyway, this was something I couldn't pass up. I, you know, car wash. So yeah, it was, so it got car wash, and it's in the snapper case. I said on a previous video, I love these snapper cases, you know, you know, like that, and yeah, and it goes like that. Love that. I don't know. I don't know why. They, they just, I don't know. They take me back to another era of time, and so I like them. I like those snapper cases. So anyway, so car wash. There's a film that I've always wanted to see. I know a lot of people are going to sit there and you're going to say, you saw that film? What is wrong with you? And you call yourself a film fanatic. No, but I've always wanted to see it, and I just never took the time to see it. It was on TV before and all, and I wanted to check it out, but I never did. It's an 80s film, late 80s. It was 1989. Weekend at Bernie's. Yeah, I know, I never saw that. Until last night, before we're recording this. So I've watched this now for the first time. And this has a little more language, a little more profanity than I would have preferred in a film. But it is a very funny little film, if you can look past the profanity and stuff. It's very funny. The two guys they find that money is being laundered somehow and they bring it to him and he goes thank you so much and he invites him up to his place for the weekend at the beach And then we find out that he going to talk to some not characters to have them taken out Well, come to find out, those not-so-savory characters are not too happy with him, Bernie, and they take him out. And then the two guys are forced to deal with dead Bernie all weekend long trying to make it look like he's alive while they enjoy their weekend. It's funny. Like I said, I wish it wasn't filled with as much profanity as it was, but it's kind of cute. It's kind of funny for what it is. So, yeah, Weekend at Bernie's, not too bad. Like I said, only a dollar for these, you know, not too bad. Not complaining. The next one is one that I've always wanted to get, and I talked about getting it for quite a while. But the cheapest I could find was like $5, and I was like, I don't know. I'm not a movie person that goes to the movie theaters. I wait until they come out on DVD or Blu-ray, and I pick them up that way. So when this came out, I would say it looked kind of cool, but I didn't want to go to the theater to check it out. And I've been waiting and waiting, and I'm glad I did, because finally at our Goodwill for half price, only a dollar. This is really cool. Jack the Giant Slayer. How about that? Only a dollar. I'm really glad I waited to get this, because I've never seen it, and I don't know much about it. And from all accounts, with the digital copy as well. So I haven't checked it, so hopefully someone didn't redo this or, you know, take it and just leave the code there. So we'll see. But anyway, yeah, Jack the Giant Slayer. How about that? Only at all? Yeah, not complaining. Not complaining. All right. Something that I have, you know, a soft spot in my heart for older films and, you know, family-oriented films. I really do. I have kind of a soft spot in my heart about that. And I've never seen this film. I know, I know. Somebody out there is going to say, yeah, you never saw that either. What's up? You know, it's hard to go through every film there ever was in history, you know. So, yeah. But this is one that I've always heard about but I've never seen. And it's a family film, Warner Brothers film, called The Secret Garden. Okay. I figured, hey, you know, half price, you know, why not? So we added the Secret Garden to the collection. And I love this. It's, see this? The snapper case again. I love those. I don't know why. I don't know why I like those. But, yeah, so there you go. The Secret Garden. Eh, we're going to check it out. Hopefully it's pretty good. I don't know. Maybe it is. Maybe it ain't. Let me know what you think about it. I don't know. there's a film that I have not seen in many, many years. And I remember watching this on TV, and I always got a kick out of it. I always thought it was kind of cute as a kid growing up. And it's another Warner Brothers release. And it's another one of the snapper cases. See that? Another one of those snapper cases. Love it. Okay? See that? Love it. And this is kind of a sports film, but I like it. It's called Little Big League. Yeah, I haven't seen this one. Oh I bet I haven seen this thing in probably I thinking late 90s So it was the last time I watched it so that what I saying It must be at least probably close to 20 years ago Yeah. So anyway, yeah, I'm looking forward to this. Yeah, Little Big League added it to the collection. I like it. Yeah, so there you go. Little Big League. This is pretty cool. I like that. Very, very cheap. Keeping in lines with sports-related stuff. This is pretty cool. like this one I haven't actually seen it but it looks really good it is a Disney film it is entitled Million Dollar Arm I have actually never seen this one either like I said I don't go to the theaters so I wait until these come out on DVD and Blu-ray and if they're really something that I really have to watch then sometimes I'll pick them up most of the time I just wait until they come out on very cheap at the Goodwills and like I said, I can get these most of the time for a buck. That's why I wait. So yeah, I got a million dollar arm for very, very cheap pay. All of these look absolutely stellar. There's nothing, no scratches, no nothing. I mean, it's just, it's really great. Keeping in line with Disney, this one I saw and I was like, man, gotta have it, gotta have it, gotta have it. I don't know why. It's not the original. It's not the classic version, but I like a little Jackie Chan every once in a while. Nothing wrong with that. And this is a Walt Disney Pictures presentation updated version of Around the World in 80 Days. Yeah, I don't know. There's just something about that when I saw that. And it's got that kind of glossy Around the World in 80 Days logo in that silver foil look. So I was like, I'm going to pick it up. Not too bad. And looking forward to checking that out. Actually, I've never seen that, so I'm looking forward to check that out. I've seen some clips of it when it was on TV. Just never picked it up or never watched it. Never stopped and took a chance. So we're going to take a chance on that in a little bit and see what it looks like. Finally, I love Steve Martin. Steve Martin was interesting. Some of Steve Martin's films, his early stuff is really a little not for the family. Let's put it that way. And then as Steve Martin moved forward in his career, later in his career, he started doing more family-oriented films. And one that was a remake of the original, and there's two remakes right in a row. Nothing wrong with that. But this is Steve Martin in Cheaper by the Dozen. This is a remake of the 50s film Cheaper by the Dozen with Clifton Webb, I believe, if I'm not mistaken. If I'm mistaken, you can correct me. But I'm pretty sure it was Clifton Webb as the star of Cheaper by the Dozen in the 50s. But anyway, this is the remake with Steve Martin. Probably not Steve Martin's greatest performance in the world, but it's pretty fun. And I like, it's got a little bit of Tom Welling in it. Superman is in Cheaper by the Dozen. So, yeah, I had to pick that up. So, there, Cheaper by the Dozen added to the collection now, too. All right, final one that we took care of and picked up. I love Frank Sinatra films. Someday down the line Remind me to do this No Someday down the line I want to bring you all my Frank Sinatra collection I got a lot of different Frank Sinatra films probably some you've never even heard of so yeah I want to do that sometime but added one that I am really really excited about I've actually never seen this one looking forward to checking this one out and I'm not mistaken and I could be, but if I'm not mistaken, I think this is his final film role. This is Frank Sinatra in The First Deadly Sin. Frank Sinatra playing a retiring detective. So yeah, I'm looking kind of forward to checking this out. M Plus, look at this. It's a snapper case. I know. I know. I'm crazy for those snapper cases for some reason. I don't know. But anyway, yeah, so I'm really looking forward to that. First Deadly Sin, Frank Sinatra. Yeah, this is going to be a lot of fun. So, yeah, we got a pretty nice little haul there. You know, what I'm getting at is this. Most of the time, your Goodwills will have their 50% off sales. And if they do have that 50% off sale, you need to go check it out. But most of the time, your 50% off sales, they'll put your DVDs and your CDs and different things like that down to like next to nothing. I mean, like to a buck. I mean, you go to the Dollar Tree and you sit there and you go, wow, only a dollar for a DVD? Well, it's the same way at Goodwill. So do some Goodwill hunting. You just never know what you're going to find. That's why I do it because I want to show you. You can get awesome stuff. I mean, who would have ever thought you'd get some of the stuff that I got, but I got a pretty cool little haul there. And so get out and pick up some of those great treasures that you can find at Goodwill. You just never know what you're going to find. And don't just renege on physical media. We want to let you know that. You know, still love those DVDs. They're still those Blu-rays. They're still, everything's going digital, and nothing wrong with digital. I have a huge collection of digital, a huge collection of digital, and I love them all. I think it's kind of cool to have them, but there's still something about that physical media, so don't just, eh, I'm not going to have any more, you know? You know, enjoy the physical media, too. It's really something cool. It's that being that treasure hunter, and it's something special about that. All right, this video went a little longer than I had anticipated, but I had a lot to get to.
