Thank you for joining us this time on the Treasure Hunters Report. This, of course, is Pastor Jay. And we've been doing our classic cinema magazine for almost three years now. We're coming on our third year anniversary. That's hard to believe. And we have a huge collection of movies because we're movie fanatics here at Classic Cinema Magazine. And we love going and checking out Big Lots and the Dollar Trees and the Goodwills and the different things like that to see if there's some great deals. And yes, there are some really awesome deals out there. And so we're going to share some of those with you right now that we picked up at our local Big Lots. here recently. This was on clearance. Only $1.25. Couldn't believe this, so couldn't pass this one up. This is Shrek 2. Yeah, I know, Shrek 1. I had Shrek 1. I got to where I was like, eh, you know, and I sold it, and now I found Shrek 2 for $1.25, so now I got to get Shrek 1 and complete it, I guess. Okay, but anyway, $1.25 is not bad, I'm not complaining. Something that is really kind of cool, I love science fiction, and I've seen this a couple times, and it's a big spectacle, it's got a lot of special effects, and it's really awesome, but, you know, I don't know if it's as amazing as a lot of people say. Now, I may get some backlash from people from this, but I think it's a good film. I don't know that it's the greatest film ever created in science fiction genre, but it is a good one. I had it on a VHS tape that transferred to DVD many years ago. I had that for quite a while and saw this, and it was only $3, and I was like, eh, I'll upgrade it. This is 2001 A Space Odyssey, the two-disc special edition, so that's pretty cool. Like I said, not the most amazing film in the world, but I think it's okay. I think it's okay. I'm a fan of Dick Van Dyke, and not a big fan of musicals a lot of times, but I enjoy a good musical every once in a while. And this one, I had to add it to my collection simply because it's Dick Van Dyke. And that is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. It's a long film, as in with most of the musicals. But yeah, I mean, this was $3. Had to add that. That's not too bad. Okay. beyond that on our couple of our recent times at Big Lots I found one film that again not one of my favorites not one that I sat there and said wow this is great But if you look behind us here, right back here, I don't know if you can see it back there, probably not, but I have Get Smart on DVD back there. Season 1, 2, 3, and 4. I still got to get season 5. But I got the first four seasons of Get Smart. Plus I've got Get Smart Again, the movie. I did have The Nude Bomb, which is a Get Smart movie. But that is just such a bad film that I was like, I don't need it that bad in the collection. So I actually sold that one. But anyway. But this was only $3. And it was on Blu-ray. and it is Get Smart, the remake. Okay, I've watched this. Not amazing. Not spectacular. Steve Carell as Maxwell Smart. I don't know how I feel about that. I guess one of the reasons I really bought this is because it's got Dwayne Johnson on it. I'm a big fan of Dwayne Johnson's work. I like his stuff. So that's why I actually bought this. But, yeah, so $3, I guess it's not too bad, but not the greatest film in the world. Let's be honest. I'm saving the best for last, but this one is pretty amazing, actually. Who doesn't love I Dream of Jeannie, right? I Dream of Jeannie was a pretty cool little TV series. But did you know that they made a film with Barbara Eden before they ever made I Dream of Jeannie? And she's not the genie? I love this. This is the Brass Bottle. And it has, interestingly enough, that's Burl Ives. Love Burl Ives. Has Tony Randall. And it has, right there, Barbara Eden in it. Now, like I said, this is not, she doesn't play the genie here. Burl Ice plays the genie. Now, this is a funny film. I saw this at Big Lots before, and I saw it at Walmart before, and I just, I've never seen it, so I was like, I don't know if I want to spend the money for it. And so somebody bought it when it was there at the Big Lots for $3, and I was like, after they bought it, I was like, well, maybe I should have bought it. Then one came back in the store, and I thought, well, I'm not going to pass it up this time. So I actually checked this thing out. This is really funny. This is really funny. This is actually, this is going to sound almost sacrilegious in a lot of ways, but I think this is better than I Dream of Jeannie. It is that good. I really love this film. So if you never have got a chance to check out The Brass Bottle, definitely if you can ever find it, pick it up. It is really funny. It's really good. All right, we're getting to the end here, but some really cool stuff. found at the Big Lots This could not pass this up I love Gregory Peck And I love two of his films especially I love a lot of them, but these two especially. This is the Gregory Peck collection. Check this out. This is a gold foil collection. And on this two-disc Blu-ray set, you get To Kill a Mockingbird, and Cape Fear, two of Gregory Peck's greatest films of all time. And this is really an awesome, awesome collection of Gregory Peck films. I want to show you something that also comes in this collection. You get your slipcover, which has got the gold foil, which is really awesome. Beyond that, you get your two-disc DVD or Blu-ray set, which is really cool. It comes with a digital copy as well, which is cool for both films. And then you have the Universal Archive, which is really kind of cool little theatrical posters and pictures and different things with Gregory Peck. See that? I love that. Different things like that, Gregory Peck. See that? Isn't that cool? All kinds of different pictures of Gregory Peck. Isn't that awesome? I love that. And then, of course, you get, you know, like your movie posters. like that, Kill a Mockingbird, and Cape Fear. So there you go. Isn't that cool? I like it. So this is a really cool little set, and you know, for $5 it's not bad, actually, so I was really glad to add this to the collection, the Classic Cinema Collection, for only $5. I ain't complaining. Yeah, love that. Real quick, I want to just, before I end this, I want to conclude before I show you the final two things. Big Locks is doing something. Some of you have never known about this. This is really cool. If you sign up for Big Locks Rewards Plan, you get a little card. And on there, every time you make an eligible purchase, you get a $5 coupon. When you spend a certain amount of money, I think it's like $15 or $20, you get $5 off. Which is really kind of cool. so you can get stuff for free, basically. And when you sign up, you get a $5 coupon immediately, which is really kind of cool. Well, see, when I did that, when I signed up and I did all that, interestingly enough, I got a $5 coupon on my next purchase, and it was kind of cool. I actually found two that I had to have. I don't own steelbooks. Okay? I don't own steelbooks. I just, they're too expensive for me most of the time. Because steelbooks are very expensive. And they're more of a type of thing you just don't buy unless you really love them. And you've got a lot of money to spend, which I don't do that. I mean, I just want the movie. But this was too good to pass up. You're going to be shocked about this. Look at this the original Frankenstein on Steelbook Isn that awesome Love it It comes with this little slip cover which is kind of cool It gives you all the info and everything on the back about the Frankenstein thing. But what is really kind of cool about these Steelbooks, this Steelbook here, is the artwork. The artwork there, that is Alex Ross' artwork. Isn't that awesome? Is that the coolest thing in the world or what? Oh my, so gorgeous. You got the logo of Frankenstein on the back. You got the steelbook on the inside. I'm going to take the digital copy out. Okay, but you got your steelbook on, this is the way it looks on the inside. Frankenstein steelbook, this was only $5. $5, I know, for a steelbook. As cool as that is, check this out. They also had the mummy. You've got to be kidding me. Same type of thing, your little slipcover thing. And interestingly enough, you've got your logo on the back of the mummy, and you've got Alex Ross artwork there. Unbelievable. So, yeah, Steelbook, I love this. You've got the pictures on the inside. comes with digital copies as well. Yeah, so I love that. I mean, Steelbook. So, yeah, this is kind of something that's been something that I've always kind of wanted to have. I've always kind of wanted to have Steelbooks, right? But I didn't want to pay the price for them when they were $5. And the interesting thing about this is, with that, basically one of them was free because I got a $5 coupon. So that is really cool. So we go to Big Lux basically every week and pick up some stuff. And so when you do that, you will get your eligible offers. And when you rack up three of them, you'll get your $5 coupon, which is really kind of cool. So you get $5 off your next purchase, which is awesome. We've already racked up three eligible offers, so we're waiting for our next coupon already. So we'll add some new stuff eventually to the Classic Cinema Archive. So this is really kind of cool. So hopefully you enjoyed this video bringing you some interesting things about what we pick up at Big Lots. We do want to remind you to go to classiccinemamagazine.blogspot.com every single day.
