Kino Lorber Studio released new Blu-rays in May 2021.
The releases include a Coen Film Collection film noir double feature.
Another release is The Daydreamers, a British film noir starring Tallulah Bankhead and Burl Ives.
Other releases include It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Honky Tonk Freeway, and westerns featuring Rock Hudson and Fred McMurray.
Greetings Classic Cinnamon TV fans, Pastor Jay here with you once again and today we are doing a first look video at some brand new Kino Lorber Studio Blu-rays just sent to us and we're going to give you a quick little view of them. Realize every single one of these Blu-rays will get a full written review at retroac.blogspot.com so you'll want to check those out. Be sure to go there every single day and you can check out some videos and podcasts and reviews and articles, all kinds of good stuff. There's tons of material up there so you can go there and check it out all right these are the may releases for 2021 and let's jump in to this now not specifically a may release but it is the end of april into may so that's why we're go ahead and put this in there because uh yeah it's just you know was sent with it so that's why we're going to do it now. But anyway, Gino Lorber released a Coen Film Collection film noir. And now they're doing another one. This is very cool. This is a double feature of the Coen Film Collection film noir. And it's on Blu-ray. Very, very cool. Cast a dark shadow and wanted for murder. Film noirs are just so cool. They're dark and they're moody and they're edgy. They were made so simple and made very cheap, but people just loved them. And that's why there's so many film noirs, but they're so cool. And this is two amazing British film noirs and very, very cool. So the Cohen Film Collection, that is coming out at the end of April. Very, very cool. The Daydreamers love this. This is so cool. This is going to be my first time checking this one out. I've never seen this, but oh wow, does this sound so cool. Rankin, part of the Rankin and Bass team that brought us all the holiday films Rudolph the Red Reindeer and different ones like that Arthur Rankin Jr brings us The Daydreamers Very, very cool. This is all about a young Hans Christian Andersen who daydreams about all the fantasy things. And, you know, The Little Mermaid and The Emperor's New Clothes and Thumbelina and all the different things like this. Very, very cool. And the cast in here is amazing. Tallulah Bankhead, Victor Borga, Patty Duke, you have Burl Ives, Boris Karloff, Hayley Mills, Thomas Terry, Ed Gwynn, Ed Bolger, just amazing names. Yeah, so that is really, really cool, and I love that artwork. It is so very, very cool. So that's going to be coming for a review as well. There's an interesting film called It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, in which there was a man, you know, hid a huge sum of money, and he was dying, and these people heard that he hid this money, and then they all go off to try to find it. Well, there was this million-dollar mystery, And this really kind of feels a lot like it's a mad, mad, mad, mad world. Very, very cool. A really, really pretty cool little cast here. We won't go deep into it because we'll get the whole full written review. But it's about a group of people that are all trying to find this money that a dying man is saying, hey, there's $4 million spread out, and if you find it, you can have it. Well, they all go crazy trying to find it, and it is pretty interesting. So, yeah, million-dollar mystery. Another kind of funny one, something funny is happening on this freeway. What? Look at that. Really interesting. you know a small town wants to get people to come to the town and all and a freeway is being put in and it's going to bypass the town and so they're coming up with a well let's just say an interesting plan I'm not going to go deep into that because I don't want to spoil it but they come up with a very funny and interesting plan to try to thwart that idea okay And wow this is pretty pretty interesting I love that art. Oh, man, that's pretty cool. So this one is called Honky Tonk Freeway, and wow, is it awesome. I'm looking forward to this one. I love those type of films, so this is going to be pretty cool. All right, let's go with a couple of these. These are interesting. Kino Lorber is killing it when it comes to this. I mean, they're really bringing in the heavy heat with all the stuff. I mean, just awesome stuff. So they have released two more amazing westerns featuring two amazing stars. Okay, first is a Bud Bodecker directed film. Bud Bodecker was a pretty amazing director. Definitely, if you know his films, Google it. It is pretty amazing. But this one is a Bud Bodecker film, and it is Rock Hudson. And I love this. Look at that artwork. Look at that artwork. That is so beautiful. This one is called Horizons West. Wow. and it is Julie Adams in this as well as Robert Ryan and Rock Hudson. Very, very cool. Looking forward to checking that one out. And then Kino Lorber has been bringing us a lot of Fred McMurray and here is yet another Fred McMurray film. This one is a Western and this is Quintez. I am looking forward to these. These two are ones that I have never seen. So if you're a Westerns fan, these may just be up your alley to check out for the month of May 2021. Love James Garner. James Garner is known for his roles in Support Your Local Sheriff and Support Your Local Gunfire. Support Your Local Sheriff is probably one of my favorite Western comedies of all time. I absolutely adore that film. It's just spectacular. But James Garner also was in Rockford Files, an amazing TV series. And he has kind of a witty way about him. He just is really, really interesting. And in this film he just has that kind of same look with this poster art and this art cover here James Garner Tank Yeah, you see that? He just, he kind of got that smirky little grin, yeah. And I just kind of have this feeling that's what this is going to be. He's going to have a smirky littleness about him, and I love that. it's basically Sergeant Major Zach Carey is completing his final stint of duty at the post in a small town after defending a lady he finds himself doing battle with the town's maniacal sheriff unbelievable so there you go that's going to be something interesting tank and then finally for the May releases 2021 of Kino Lorber, who didn't love this dude back in the day. He just blew up, and he was part of pop culture icon back in the day, and this is Vanilla Ice. Yeah, Vanilla Ice was a big deal back in the day. I wasn't a big, huge fan of Vanilla Ice, but I knew of him you know uh and uh he was a big deal back in the day and this one is his film called cool as ice i have never seen this a lot of these i've never seen and so i'm i'm really really looking forward to these because uh you know to see films that you've never seen before is a big deal so this is very very cool and uh to see this this is pretty cool i love the tagline here too when a girl has a heart of stone there's only one way to melt it just add ice okay that's pretty cool okay i'll take that uh i'm looking forward to this one so yeah so kina lorva is doing some amazing things this month and uh for the month of may 2021 be sure to go to retroac.blogspot.com and uh be sure to get all the reviews for these and pick these up i think you're going to be amazed by some of these.
