Greetings Classic Cinema and TV fans, this is Jason Lachern, Pastor Jay here with you once again on another Classic Cinema Plus Silver Screen Spotlight. And today is an interesting day as we are releasing this video. Today, right now, as we look, it is the International Dog Day. That is right. It's Thursday, August the 26th, 2021. It is International Dog Day. So since it is International Dog Day, what better thing to do on a silver screen spotlight than to spotlight a dog star? All right. So that's what we're going to do today. And it's all coming to you thanks to the good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment. And today we're talking about probably one of the most iconic of all dog stars. We're talking about Benji. Yes. Mill Creek Entertainment, this is actually a release they did quite a few years ago. But they're just so amazing that I had to spotlight them because, hey, it's International Dog Day. And what else can you do? You've got to spotlight one of the dog stars, right? So they released four amazing Blu-rays. Amazing Blu-rays. And we're going to jump into these and show them to you. But Mill Creek did an amazing job with this. They gave us, look at this, the original Benji movie. I love this film because this is where we first saw Benji, the original classic. and wow, it has been restored and it's in high definition and widescreen and it comes with special bonus features and everything which is so cool and I love this, it has a slip cover it's the same artwork of course but hey, it's a slip cover people also which is pretty cool which I wanted to share with you is you not only get the Blu-ray but you get the DVD but beyond that you also get look at this, the digital yes, from Movie Spree what an amazing thing love this, and basically this is all about if you've ever seen the original Benji movie then you know what you getting but it all about a little tramp dog that all by himself and how he goes about and ends up learning to find a family And it's just, oh my goodness, what a sweet film. It just breaks your heart when you see a little animal like Bungie that's, you know, in trouble. And you just want to go up and just grab him and hug him, you know. It's so amazing. Then after they released this, it became this one, For the Love of Benji. Oh, I love this one. It is so cool. For the Love of Benji. Another one with a slipcover. Same artwork, but slipcover. Very, very cool. And this is the second film that Benji did. And this one is with his family. he's on vacation in Greece, and it becomes a spy, espionage, thriller type film, and it is so, so cool, and Benji's right in the midst of it all. Very, very awesome little film, and completely different from the original. It's like two different films, but it's so amazing. Again, with this release, you not only get the Blu-ray and the DVD, but you also get the digital copy as well from Movie Spree. So that is really, really cool. Along with special bonus features as well, we get an audio commentary, which also, you get audio commentary on this one, but you get an audio commentary and then you get Benji at Marineland, which is a pretty cool little thing. And the thing that makes this one even so much cooler is the fact that you get the double MacGuffin, which is like a little movie, an additional movie in this release, which is so amazing. Man, Mill Creek went above and beyond with this one. I love that. Then what we got for Christmas time was we got Benji's very own Christmas story. Look at that. Is that not cool? Look at Benji with that hat. Oh, my goodness. He's so, oh, man, he's so sweet you could eat him up. It's pretty cool. Again, just like the others, this is brand-new restoration in high definition and widescreen. Very, very cool. And all about Benji and his family taking a trip around, and they find that Santa Claus has broken his leg and he doesn know what to do who can possibly step in for him it so cool it so cool uh i love it um benji very own christmas story was like a tv special so so it's not a long uh one but you know it it's it's pretty cool it's pretty cute and i love it But, yeah, again, with this one, we get both Blu-ray and DVD, which is very, very cool. And also, again, you get digital. Yes, I love it. This one does not come with slipcover. I don't know why that, but, eh, it's not a major deal. But anyway, it doesn't come with slipcover, but that's okay. But it is a very, very cool little holiday classic. Definitely one that if you've never seen, you should check out. It is so cool. So those are the classic Benjis. Okay, these are the classic Benjis. Then Mill Creek Entertainment released this one. This is not the original Benji. This is like Benji's Descendant, but that's okay. This is Benji off the leash. This is more of a later release. This is a newer release. But again, one of those releases that is very, very cool You can tell that's not Benji You can tell that You can tell it's got Benji's You can tell that's Benji's descendant You can tell that's Benji's relative But you can tell that's not Benji But still, pretty, pretty cool release This one, all about very, very not complicated story, but a very very heavy story, let's put it that way, about a boy that's being pushed around by his dad. His dad runs a puppy mill and how he wants to kind of save the little dogs that are in this puppy mill and all this type of stuff. It's a very heavy story. It's a very, very heavy story, but a very, very well done story, too. Again, in this one, brand new restoration on high definition and in widescreen. Very, very cool. We also get, as with the other ones, slipcover. Okay, pretty cool. And also, we get audio commentary, behind featurette trailers all kinds of good stuff like that And again this comes with Blu and DVD and also digital on Movies Free So very, very cool. Yeah, so, yeah, if you've never seen these releases from Mill Creek Entertainment, if you love Benji, if you enjoy the Benji films, definitely we highly suggest these ones. they're really really worthwhile very very good releases from Mill Creek Entertainment and having them on Movie Spree Digital as well is very very cool so that if you don't feel like dragging them out and putting them in the DVD player or the Blu-ray player you can just bring them up on Roku or on your phone or your computer and watch them there you got all the conveniences all the way around and we have got them all that way that way we can watch them anyway we want to and that is so so cool mill creek entertainment bringing us uh entertainment our way which is so awesome you can have the physical media you can have the digital media you can have both you can have you can make your choice you can do what you want to do and we thank mill creek entertainment for that so yeah on this international dog day we thank mill creek entertainment for bringing us Benji.
