And I want to thank you really, really so much for joining me today on this podcast. Usually on these podcasts, we kind of talk more about movies. Because it's the drive-in. But today we're going to kind of take something into a cinematic experience that was even TV at this time. But it was so cinematic and it was so amazing. And it is a brand new release. It has got a brand new release. It's coming the month of October to Blu-ray. I'm so excited about this. and it's a perfect month for it because October is Halloween. We are talking about a brand new release from Kino Lorber Studio Classics. We are talking about Cold Check the Night Stalker. You have got to be kidding me. This is the complete series of Cold Check the Night Stalker on Blu-ray. Wow. This is going to be epic. Now if you're watching the video, you're going to be able to see the release itself. Now if you're looking, if you're watching the video, you can see it. It is absolutely spectacular. Oh, well, well, baby. Yeah, baby. Yeah, baby. Well, baby. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. There you have Kolchek, the Night Stalker, and you have there a vampire and a zombie in back of him there as he is doing his thing. I love it. Oh, my goodness. This is so cool. It comes in with a slipcover. As you can see, this is a slipcover. Those of you that are watching the video. So it comes with a slip cover, and then it has the actual release. It's the same cover for the actual insert, but that is so, so cool. Kolchak the Night Stalker basically is about Carl Kolchak. He is kind of a hard-nosed reporter who's kind of investigating a lot of mysterious and crazy things and finds himself in a lot of sticky situations with things like zombies and vampires and Jack the Ripper and all kinds of different crazy stuff. And wow, this is spectacular. This is probably one of the series that I have been so excited about to get to see on Blu-ray. when Kino Lorber announced Kolchak the Night Stalker on Blu-ray to say I was excited would be such an understatement it crazy yeah I mean we talking Kolchak the Night Stalker people We talking Colchic the Night Stalker This is so awesome I like it. I like it. As you can see, I'm like a little kid in a candy store here. I mean, this is crazy. I feel like I'm like Charlie in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. I'm telling you, this is so, for a fan of classic TV from like the 50s and 60s and 70s, this is one I have wanted on Blu-ray for so long. And now here it is. You have got to be kidding me. This is so cool. Sadly, Kolchak the Night Stalker didn't last as long as it really should have. uh Kolchak the Night's Zocker was way ahead of its time it was so well produced the the stories are just uh really awesome uh the effects are really great everything I don't know what happened there if it was that uh the world of the 70s was just not ready for for such a uh tv series like I don't know. I don't know exactly what went on there, but it only lasted 20 episodes, which is a shame. But now we get all 20 episodes on amazing Blu-ray. Yes, four Blu-rays, four Blu-ray discs right here. bringing us all 20 episodes and then those of you that are watching the video can see there is a booklet insert as well. Yes, so the Kolchek the Night Stalker the truth is in here. The little booklet that tells about the history of Kolchek the Night Stalker and all the cool stuff about that and it is just unbelievable. I am so looking forward to diving into this. I actually have not even looked at a single episode yet because I just got this in the mail as we are producing this podcast. The reason I am doing it this way is because my excitement is through the roof. And usually when my excitement is through the roof, That is when I talk the best about a release. And so, yeah, I'm just on cloud nine right now with this. Cold check the Night Stalker, people. This is so cool. I love it. Now, for special features, Kina Lorber have really done an amazing job putting a lot of cool stuff here. We get interviews with David Chase, the creator of The Sopranos and co-writer of eight Colchek the Night Stalker episodes. Very cool. Interview with David Gould, the creator of Stand Against Evil. The booklet that we've just talked about is in here. Now get this, 21 audio commentaries. Wow. For the 20 episodes. very very awesome you get 14 uh original tv spots and newly commissioned artwork as well which you see there i mean this is just insane It so cool Well I suppose you right in a way Warren Sure, I'm right. It's in full-screen format, but yet in 1080p, so that it will display on your big screen high-definition television, but in the full-screen format, which it was originally supposed to do. That is one thing that I really despise. I've seen that a lot, that they take movies and TV shows that were produced in full screen format, and then they stretch the picture out so that you get people that have this stretched out faces and all this stretched out stuff. It's just terrible. It looks horrible. Oh, that's bad. I would rather have the black bars on the side And have the full screen format Than have the stretched out picture That just looks terrible In my opinion So this is really really cool to see this In it's original full screen format Yeah Also English subtitles for the deaf and hard and hearing Always an awesome Little bonus there Love that So yeah, Colchek the Night Stalker I am so excited about this I want to thank Kino Lorber for sending this one to us here at Classic Cinema Plus. We are going to have an absolute blast reviewing this one. We're going to have a full written review once we get through all 20 episodes and all the other bonus features and all that type of stuff. We're going to write up a full written review, so you'll need to keep your eyes open to Classic Cinema Plus and keep a look at there for the review of this. We will be reviewing many, many great Kino Lorber releases this month in addition to Kolchak the Night Stalker. So, yeah, you're definitely going to need to keep your eyes open to Classic Cinema Plus, our official website, and be checking there all the time for new reviews. yeah so this is going to be this is going to be a fun time I'm going to tell you something if you are looking for something that is going to keep you entertained you're going to be entertained but maybe you don't like the ultra violent type of horror movies and horror shows but you want something that's going to kind of keep you entertained definitely Kolchak the Night Stalker is going to do that. A lot of mystery and some scary moments, but nothing over the top. And that's what makes it so, so cool. Great clouds of blue match. Yeah, so if you've always wanted to see Kolchak the Night Stalker, I'm going to tell you, you are going to want this. anytime you're going to get a Blu-ray you know you're getting the highest possible quality and with Kino Lorber you know you're getting the best possible quality you can possibly get I've been reviewing Kino Lorber releases for quite a while now and I have to say they have never ever ever disappointed me ever every single release they have done such a great job with Their transfers are always beautiful They get the best quality possible of the original prints that they can get and then they put them on the Blu-rays in the highest quality possible. I know this is going to be great and if you're looking for wanting to see Kolchak the Night Stalker, definitely definitely pick it up on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics. It's a great thing. You can stream them if you would prefer, but for physical media fans like me and more than likely like you, there's something about having the physical media in your hands. And just one more thing about physical media as we kind of finish up here. Physical media is a type of thing that we applaud here at Classic Cinema Plus because of the fact that it's a thing that you always will have. See, with streaming, streaming can be taken away from you, depending on what you have. See, that's the big thing that people have always said, well, I'll just have my streaming movies or my streaming TV shows on my account. Yeah, but what if your streaming account goes down? You don't have to get angry about it. You know, what if they no longer allow you to have that? They can take that away. What if you're wanting to watch something and what if your high-speed Internet connection goes out? There's a lot of things that can predicate you not being able to see what you want on streaming. And we do streaming all the time at our house. But the idea is there's something about the physical media. And so that if per chance, we live in a rural area, so if per chance the internet, high-speed internet would go out and you want to watch something, you've still got it on physical media. That's why we do physical media. So we applaud. We applaud all those people, those companies like Kina Lorber who keep physical media alive. We thank them so very much and we appreciate them. So anyway, so go out and pick up a copy of Kolchak the Night Stalker and enjoy some good classic horror from the TV show from the 70s. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
