Music Great classic cinema and TV fans, this is Pastor Jay, Jason Lockhart here with you once again bringing you another flashback Friday. That is right, we are back with you. It's been quite a while since we've done one of these. It really has been. And so today we want to look back at an amazing release from Kino Lorber Studio Classics. I have been absolutely in love with Kino Lorber releases since I've been reviewing them. Kino Lorber really does a great job putting great releases together. We really do enjoy them. And now this is one that I actually have never seen before this release, and I was intrigued by it. It's a 3D release, but the interesting thing about 3D is I've not been a really big fan of 3D. okay i i don't know why it just it it was a novelty to me and i just didn't i never really got it i would i would put on the glasses and i watch it and i just i never really enjoyed the 3d release as much as the actual uh just the movie right so um when this release came out and it was a 3d release i was like well it's got the original release um so i was like okay let's do it anyway. But then when it arrived at the studios I thought I need to see the 3D release So I ended up watching the 3D release and we are talking a 80s import film It was made in Italy and it an import film here in America and pretty interesting It is called The Treasure of the Four Crowns Okay, now, basically, trying to put it down to brass tacks, trying to make it as simplistic as possible, there's this evil cult leader who has gathered the mystical four crowns in a hope to control the entire world. A group of, let's say, ragtag group of interesting people are put together to steal the four crowns from this evil cult leader before the world is destroyed. It kind of has an Indiana Jones type feel to it, but not much. Just a little bit. You can tell that it was inspired by Indiana Jones, but it's not Indiana Jones by no means. Now, the interesting thing about this, Supervision 3D, see that? It's made in Supervision 3D, right? So I was like, okay, I need to watch this in 3D. So I was like, okay, put on the glasses. And the cool thing is I love the glasses that come in this release. Keenan Lorber did a good job with these. I like these 3D glasses. I'm going to show them to you. They're pretty cool. I always, I don't know, I just thought they were pretty interesting. They're black. Most of the time they're white, the paper glasses. These are black, and they have 3D Archive Kino. Kino Cult, I should say, is on there. And of course on the other side you have 3D Film Archive Kino Lorber Studio Classics Pretty cool Now you put them on and you get the 3D effect Pretty cool I like them. So, anyway. So, I put these on and I watched the film for the first time in 3D. This film here actually changed my mind on 3D. I can't believe I'm saying that, but it actually did. this film changed my mind on 3D. I actually enjoyed it. This film is amazingly 3D. I mean, they made this so much that the thing's just flying at you like this, like crazy. Continuously, things are just going at you. And actually, there were a couple of times, I have to say, the arrows were like flying at the screen. and I actually ducked one time. And so that really made it really cool. I know, I mean, you know, you actually duck from a 3D film, but actually it came right at me and it was like, okay, okay. And then I was like, dude, it's a film. So, I mean, that really made this really, really cool for me. I really enjoyed it. audio commentaries, audio interview, you get both the 3D version for just regular Blu-ray players, and you also get a polarized 3D movie, which only plays with 3D players and 3D TVs. So you can watch it either way, which is really cool. And then, of course, you get the original 2D film as well. I mean Tino Lorber really put together an amazing release here so that no matter what you like if you like them in the 3D player and 3D television then you covered If you don have that player you can still watch it on 3D and it looks pretty cool And then you can also watch it in 2D. I mean, they got you covered on all bases here with this release, and I absolutely enjoyed it. Now, this film is not considered, when you go to the different sites and you look at the ratings of it, this film is not considered the greatest film of all time, by no means. it has a low rating by a lot of people. But call me crazy, I liked this film a lot. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was very exciting and pretty, pretty cool. And that's from me watching it for the first time. I have not watched this before, so I don't have nostalgia to this release. I just really enjoyed the film. So, yeah, and so I definitely, definitely suggest checking this out.
