Now for the next awards presentation, please welcome to the stage, the Director of Requiem for an entertainer, Miss Eve Davis. Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. We are here to play tribute to the greatest guy that I know in entertainment, Preston Jericho. No matter what we do today, we don't quit. We don't give in. we go through. So let's do this. It's time to fight. Let's go. First off, I'm not very happy with the fact that you came in here and tried to strong arm me. I don't particularly care for the fact that you pulled a gun on me. And I have to tell you, nobody, and I want you to look deep in my eyes when I say this, nobody pulls a gun on Johnny Domingo and lives to tell about it. You understand what I'm saying? And if you don't understand what I'm saying, maybe you understand this. Un pet de dufeta! Alas, poor Yorick. I knew him a ratio. A fellow of infinite just and most excellent fancy. Surely he hath borne me on his back a thousand times. Now, how abhorred in my imagination he is. Die, E.T. scum! It's good to be me. In all my years of fighting in this legal system, I don't think I have ever seen such a miscarriage of justice in all my life. This young man died for what? For nothing. The way this is going, he will have died for nothing. Well, not on my watch. Not as long as I have breath in my lungs, strength in my legs, and a mind to fight this injustice. I will fight. I will fight to the last because this young man cannot have died for nothing. His death must must be avenged He cannot have died for nothing If he dies for nothing then truly, truly, I no longer want to live in this world. I no longer want to be here. in this world any longer. We cannot let this man's death be for nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, we're here to present this award to Preston Jericho, one of my dearest friends that I have learned to appreciate and really got to know this year. Before, he was just an actor in a movie that I liked watching. This year, he's become my friend, Preston Jericho. Thank you. The thing that came to mind was simply to speak out of my heart. What is life? Life should not be measured by awards won or accolades received. it should be measured in how much we affect others lives for good and I must say tonight in this place that my dear friend Eve Davis has affected my life for the better And for that I could never, ever repay. All I ever wanted to do was to tell stories. Ever since I was a young child watching my first adventure film on the big screen. I wanted to do that. Now, whether you loved my movies or whether you didn't, I want to say one thing, and that is simply thank you for letting me live my dream. albeit a short dream, it was a dream come true nonetheless. There were a lot of reports of bad things during my career. and I was content to leave people think what they wanted to think But Eve Davis was not willing to let that happen. Eve wanted to get to the truth. And I will say this, Eve is persistent and persistent almost to being obnoxious. But as I look back on it, I'm glad she was obnoxious. she gave me the opportunity to become free from the past. Tonight, I simply want to say thank you for letting me live my dream. And I want to say one other thing tonight. Be kind to each other. Don't believe rumors. Don't spread rumors. We all wear masks. in this life. And you never know what is behind the mask that someone is wearing. Finally, I don't know how much longer I have in this world. but I do know this tonight will live with me forever for this I say thank you and God bless In Eve's biography, she recalled that just a few short months after the awards ceremony, I was at my friend's bedside as he breathed his final breath. But I don't want to remember him lying in the bed in that weekend stay. I prefer to remember him in this one. The scene of his greatest achievement.
