Greetings Classic Cinema TV fans, this is Jason Lagard here with you once again bringing you another Silver Screen Spotlight. This is a special very early look at some new releases. this is very special. We are bringing you a first look at some November releases for 2022. So as you can see, this is way early. Some of these are not available for over a month yet. And so we're giving you a first look. Thanks to the good folks at MVD Visual. They sent these over to us and ask us to share them with you so that you can get a first look at it and kind of see what you think, and maybe it'll be something you will want to add to your collection. So we're going to give you a little look at it and kind of let you see what it looks like, and then you'll have an idea whether you want to add that to your collection. All right, so four new releases coming in November, and let's jump right into this. First off, The Nun and the Devil. Okay, so this is a kind of a, how do we say this, mystery, adventure kind of horror type film maybe in a way. And it's from the good folks at Twilight Time. And it's a limited edition. That's pretty cool. The limited edition series. You might be able to see that there. And what it is is basically this convent where all the nuns are, the mother, I guess the mother superior, if you will, or whatever, passes away. And then this ends up into a mad dash to be the next one in charge from all the other nuns, right? and things don't go overly as well as it should. Let's just put it that way. We don't want to spoil anything if you haven't watched it. So this is kind of interesting. This includes with this release both the English and the Italian audio, and it has the English subtitles. if you want to hear it in the original and just read the English. There is that Kind of interesting So anyway you have a collector booklet included in the release So interesting visuals, though. Very interesting visuals. I mean, see, that's very interesting visuals. So, yeah, it's kind of interesting. The disc looks like that. And on the inside cover, you have additional artwork, which is pretty cool. So, yeah, that's going to be an interesting release. So, yeah, if you're into something that they call nonsploitation, I don't know if anybody's into that or not. But if you are, this might be something that you want to add to your collection, The Nun and the Devil. All right. Also coming in November is Murder in a Blue World. Okay, this one is from Cauldron Films, and it takes place in the future, in a dystopian consumer-fed future, where a guy named David witnesses a nurse commit murder, and he starts to blackmail her. And then her and a friend find out that he is a gangster that's done some not so good things himself. And then it goes awry from there as this whole thing blows up. So it's kind of an interesting film. Really, really interesting. And I love this. All the bonus features that they put on this release is pretty cool. You get an archival interview with Chris Mitchum, who is one of the stars of the film. Okay. You get a dubbing in a blue world, a little featurette, video essay by film scholar Dr. Xavier Reyes, commentary by film historian Kat Ellargey. And there's an image gallery, Clockwork Terror VHS Cut Standard Edition. Very interesting. So that is pretty cool. On the inside of Murder in the Blue World, you get the black disc with the blue titles and the interesting inside cover. There you go Okay that one looks really interesting to me So yeah I don know going to check that one out That pretty cool And so if you a fan of this type of dystopian future type films this might be one you want to add to your collection It does also have the Spanish audio and the English audio as well. I like the dubbings. I don't know. I've been a fan of Godzilla movies my whole life. So I kind of like that English dub. I don't know. It just, I like, I don't know. There's something about those that when you see the mouth moving and it doesn't match up. I don't know. It just, it's something that I just like. I don't know why. It's weird, but I do. I like that. All right. The next one also from Cauldron Films is from Lucio Fulci. Lucio Fulci is known for all his horror films that are kind of yucky and, well, yucky is the wrong word, violent, gory, you know. But this is not one of these films. This is contraband. This is a thriller kind of film. And it's basically about a drug dealing gangster who tries to muscle his way into an operation. And so this is a very interesting film. It's completely different from what we're used to with Lucia Fulci. But it's a pretty interesting film. It looks pretty good from what I've seen. And, yeah, special features here on this include new interviews with the cast and all. There's archival interviews. There's a commentary, trailers and gallery. Pretty awesome. There's also the Italian audio as well as the English audio as well. So that's pretty cool. So, disc is a little standard, but on the inside, there is that. That's pretty cool. Okay. So, there you go. Yeah. Contraband. All right. Now, for me, the main event of this whole thing is this one. Tubular bells. Wow. The 50th anniversary tour. This is really interesting. Okay, so Mike Oldfield produced a studio album where he played a lot of instruments, basically most of the instruments, and made this studio album. And it became a wild success I mean it was really really a big success and people loved it and it been going ever since I mean just non So he been on tour with this and everything and it is just really, really cool. Well, for the 50th anniversary of this studio album and all, they decided to do a tour and they're doing a they've done a documentary about it so this is a pretty cool release I as a musician myself I do music and and and love music this is this is pretty cool this is one I never saw before I've never heard of tubular bells that's kind of crazy but it's true I've never heard of this so so when I heard of it I was like when I heard of this release I was like, wow, that is pretty awesome. So I was like, I got to check this out. So yeah, brand new release. And this is from the good folks at Cleopatra Films and MD Visual as well. In this, you get the full documentary. Let's do this. See this? Two discs set. You get the full documentary about tubular bells as well as a live show the full live show that is spectacular uh i am so looking forward to checking this out uh the whole full show and then the documentary as well that is pretty cool uh special features include turning back the clock an interview with Mike Oldfield and Richard Branson. So that is pretty cool. This to me is the main event. This really is. This is the main event. So I like it. I like it. So anyway, as you can see, we have some pretty awesome releases here coming in November. Of course, this is the main event to me. But anyway, but some really awesome releases. So you're covered all the way around. Something for everybody, I think, here. If you like thrillers or dystopian futures or music or whatever, you've got you covered all the way around here.
