Three new Blu-ray and DVD releases from MVD Visual are discussed.
The releases include Wendy Williams Live and Loud from London, Panther, and Ski Patrol.
Wendy Williams Live and Loud is a concert film featuring punk rock and heavy metal music.
Panther is a civil rights film set in 1968 Oakland, California, while Ski Patrol is a comedy about a ski lodge.
Greetings, classic cinema TV fans, this is Jason Lagard here with you once again bringing you another Silver Screen Spotlight. Today we are talking about three brand new releases from, actually we're talking about three upcoming releases from MVD Visual. These are sent to us early so that we can share them with you, our audience, early so that you can get an idea of what the disc looks like, what the release looks like. And then maybe you want to add it to your collection. So first of all, we're talking about Wendy Williams live and loud from London. Here we go. This is a really interesting release. If you're a fan of those punk rock, heavy metal type music, this is probably going to be one you're going to want to add to your collection. This was recorded from Camden Palace in London on October 1st, 1985, so quite a long time ago. So this is kind of interesting. It runs 55 minutes long, so not a real long concert, but hey, it's something. The disc itself is like this, so there you go. That's what it looks like. And 12 songs on this release this little concert event And special guests are from the band Motorhead as you can see right there. Okay. So that's pretty interesting. So that's kind of an interesting release. So you may want to check that one out. All right. Also, then these are the main events to me. Two movies from MVD. First off, we're talking about Panther. Panther is, of course, takes place and the rising tension of the civil rights movement in Oakland, California in 1968, when the Black Panthers, led by Huey Newton, have armed themselves and are ready to fight for freedom. I've always enjoyed these civil rights movies, these true accounts. And so this one is really something I'm looking forward to checking out. This artwork is pretty awesome. First off, let's tell you what this is about. You got it in high definition. Of course, it's a Blu-ray, so it's in high definition in widescreen format in 2.0 audio, English subtitles, theatrical trailer, and then there is also reversible artwork. So you get this artwork on the insert, or you get this artwork on the insert, which I like, of course, different artwork to me. That makes it so much better. The inside disc is like this. There you go. This is, of course, Just to let everybody know this is a very adult film Okay So it has a lot to hatred and uh and there a lot of tension and a lot of uh uh adult language and violence and stuff like that So this is not for the entire family by no means. Uh, so definitely, definitely realize that. But, uh, if you're a fan of the civil rights, uh, films, uh, definitely you may want to check out Panther, uh, and add that to your collection. Okay. And then, uh, for, uh, maybe a little bit more for the, uh, at least for most of the family, this is, uh, from the creators of police Academy comes ski patrol. All right. This is from MVD, uh, rewind collection and, uh, ski patrol, uh, deals with a, uh, a ski lodge that, is the guy that owns it, Pop. He is set to renew his lease and keep the ski patrol there. But there's some people that are some evil people that want to change all that and kind of do their own thing. And so then everything goes kablooey, if you will. Okay, so it's not trying to spoil it too much, but it's basically a comedy, if you will. Um, uh, presented in high definition in a widescreen format, 2.0, uh, for your audio. Uh, there's option of English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. Always a good thing. Uh, the, um, theatrical trailer and, uh, reversible artwork as well. So you get this artwork, or if you prefer, you can have this kind of artwork. Uh this is um both of these artwork is uh on this uh this uh thing here So you got that or you got that So you can have them either way if you want I of course like the different artwork Love that disc. I don't know what there is about that disc that I love so much. It seems kind of simplistic, but I love it. I don't know. I just think it looks really, really cool. I don't know. I like it. Something that's always interesting with the Rewind collections is that we get something that I always really love is the mini poster. I love that. Always love the little mini posters. So yeah, that's pretty cool. I'm looking forward to these, checking these out for November. So yeah, we'll let you know more about these maybe with some written reviews on these.
