Greetings, classic cinema and TV fans. This is Jason Lockhart here with you once again, bringing you another Flashback Friday. Today is something very, very special. Now, for many people, you think Mission Impossible. Maybe you think that classic theme, you know, where you strike the match and you do that and it goes, and then you got that do, do, do, do, do, do, you know. Maybe you think of that. Maybe you think of Tom Cruise. I don't know. I don't know what you think of when you think of Mission Impossible, but, and I love the Mission Impossible movies. Don't get me wrong. I love them. But if I'm thinking Mission Impossible, I'm thinking the classics, right? I'm thinking like Mission Impossible, right? The classic TV series. Now, I have to be honest with you. As much as I love the Mission Impossible movies, and I do, I think Tom Cruise is amazing in these movies. They're action-packed. They're really, really great. But I still love the movie. I love the movies, but there's something about the TV series, right? And I have to be honest with you. The TV series was not always my favorite thing, right? I remember as a kid, I've watched a couple episodes, and it was just like, eh, it's okay. It's all right. But as I've gotten older, I've really gotten to respect and love and cherish those old classic TV series of Mission Impossible, those old episodes. So I've always wanted to have Mission Impossible, the TV series here at Classic Cinema Plus Studios. But the problem is that I didn't want to pay the insane amount of money that it was online. I just call me cheap call me thrifty call me whatever it doesn matter but I like to get things for a deal right That why I do a lot of treasure hunting I call it the treasure hunters report, and we pick up a lot of interesting things for really cheap. We go to pawn shops, we go to Goodwills, we go to the different stores and find things that are on clearance and stuff like that, and that's how we get a lot of stuff that we've always wanted, right? And that's what makes collecting so much fun for me is to run across something that I've never seen before and be like, yes, okay, so that was, that's why this is so cool, okay, so Big Lots had this, Mission Impossible, the first three seasons on this amazing box set, as you can see, it's, I love these, these are my favorite kind of box sets, I have so many of them here at Classic Cinema Plus Studios, We got I Love Lucy. We got The Lucy Show. We got Laverne and Shirley. We got Andy Griffith. Let's see. Lost in Space. The Fugitive. So many different things. And they're in these type of cases to where they're all collected like this. They come out of the box and they're like that. Okay, the box is like that. So that's pretty cool. The interesting thing that I think of too that is really cool with this box set is this. If you look, there is an edge at the top and at the bottom. Okay, and none of these boxes have that. Now, to me, I don't know if this is to make it sit sturdier. I don't know what that's for. Somebody has an idea what that's for. Let me know in a comment. I honestly, that's the only thing I can think of this is for, is to make it to where it sits more sturdy. So it's like, you know, an edge to it. That's the only thing I can think of because I honestly have never seen this before. So I think that's what that's for, is to make it sit to where it's more sturdy. If you know what it is more than I do let me know in the comments I like to know But anyway Mission Impossible is really a cool show It was taking place during the Cold War and it a spy show And each episode is something new, some new adventure, some new mission that these brave men and women have to go through to keep the world safe. And it is so cool. Love the theme song. Love all the characters. It just is really, really a cool show. So I was really excited about this. Now, the interesting thing, this was $10, okay? Not bad for three seasons of a TV show. But, okay, with Big Lots, if you spend, you get a $5 coupon, right? So I had to go and pick up some stuff at Big Lots. And I had my $5 coupon, found this for $10. And I was like, well, now. So I used my $5 coupon. And if you go by that, this actually only cost me $5. So pretty awesome. To get three seasons of Mission Impossible for $5? Wow, that is pretty cool. So in addition to scoring Mission Impossible for $5, I actually happened to go to Goodwill that day. And I was like, let's just look. Most of the time, Goodwills are very low when it comes to movies and things like that, especially where we live. I think a lot of people are going back to getting DVDs and Blu-rays and stuff like that and kind of eliminating the streaming. And so they're becoming a lot of people going back to that. So, you know, a lot of times you don't get as much as you used to. And I think so. So a lot of times we don't go to Goodwill too much, just every so often. I'm glad I went this day because I did find one that I have wanted to have here at Classic Cinema Plus Studios for a very long time. And yeah I came across it this day and it was only and it is Sinbad in The Cherokee Kid Okay, so I love Western comedies a lot. I really do. I enjoy them, and my favorite, of course, is Support Your Local Sheriff. I love The Villain with Arnold Schwarzenegger. I think That is a hilarious film. I love Cat Blue. I love Blazing Saddles. Just go through and you can just name all the different Western comedies. They're all amazing. But this one, I remember seeing one time on TV and I was like, that's pretty cool. And I was always wanting to get it, but couldn't find it. Well, now we did. So there it is. Cherokee Kid on DVD. Only $2. That's pretty good. I would say that's pretty good. So yeah, looking forward to checking that out again after all these years. So yeah, it's a small little Treasure Hunters report on this Flashback Friday, but there's a lot of entertainment here.
