This parable is found in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 16, verses 19-31. [1:30] The parable tells the story of a Rich Man who lived a life of luxury and excess, while Lazarus, a poor man, lay at his gate. Despite their different circumstances, both men died and went to the afterlife. The Rich Man was sent to a place of torment, while Lazarus was welcomed into heaven.
