Biblical Miracles Explained - Dr. Johnson Cherian

Dr. Johnson Cherian explains a miracle from 2 Kings chapter 6 where Elisha makes an iron axe head float on water.

The miracle is attributed to the power of God Almighty, not Elisha's power.

The Bible teaches that God is still able to do great miracles, even if we don't understand how they happen.

Thank you. Praise the Lord. Welcome to the series titled Miracles from the Bible. I am Dr. Johnson Sarian. And I will be reading a small passage from 2 Kings chapter 6. The sons of the prophet said to Elisha, See now the place where we dwell with you is too small for us. Please let us go to the Jordan and let every man take a beam from there. And let us make there a place where we may dwell. And he answered, Go. Then one said, Please consent to go with your servants. And he answered, I will go. So he went with them. And when they came to the Jordan, they cut down trees. But as one was cutting down a tree, the iron axe head fell into the water. And he cried out and said, Alas, Master, for it was borrowed. So the man of God said, Where did it fall? And he showed him the place. So he cut off a stick and threw it in there and he made the iron float. Therefore he said, Pick it up for yourself. So he reached out his hand and took it. What an astounding miracle we read of here. Elisha went with the sons of the prophets as they were cutting trees and as one was cutting a tree the iron axe head fell into the water and it sunk into the water and the man cried out Allah's master for it was borrowed and Elisha asked him where did it fall and he showed him the place what did Elisha do he just cut off a stick and threw it there and he made the iron float Now if Elisha had thrown a magnet or something there we could have believed that the iron would have come up with it but he just cuts off a stick and throws it into that place. We cannot even imagine what kind of a miracle that was. The axe head which was made of iron, it floated on the waters. This is a great miracle that God did for Elisha. It was not Elisha's power, but the power of God Almighty that did the miracle there. So some of the things that we read in the word of God may be beyond our understanding, but we must believe that God is still able to do such great miracles. Now how God did it, we do not know. There is no logic we cannot understand here. But then it did happen. And we believe the word of God. whatever is written in the word of God we believe now if this miracle was spoken about in these times we may not have believed it but since it is there written in the word of God we believe it and as we keep reading the word of God our faith increases in God Almighty in Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit of God and we are able to believe that God is still able to do great and wonderful things for us praise the Lord May God bless you with these verses. you
